The Herman Hansen Memorial Golf Tournament was founded in 2004 in loving memory of Herman Hansen, Ed’s father, who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2001 and passed away in August 2003. What began as a way to honour his life has grown into a meaningful annual tradition dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the Ottawa Cancer Foundation.

Now in its twenty-third year, this community has raised over $500,000—a testament to the generosity, compassion, and commitment of everyone involved. And each year, we set our sights even higher.

As the saying goes, many hands make light work. While Ed Hansen and Duane Francis continue to lead the tournament with heart and dedication, they are supported by an incredible core team—including Steve Lacroix, Eric Gill, Matt Jacques, and Stacey Sauvé—and countless volunteers who give their time and energy year after year.

To everyone who has contributed, whether behind the scenes or in the spotlight, we are deeply grateful. This tournament simply wouldn’t be the same without you.
