Once again, we are pleased to promote the 7th Annual “Let’s Take a Swing at Cancer” Golf Tournament for Cancer research and treatment.  This tournament will take place at the Emerald Links Golf and Country Club on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 with registration beginning at 11:00 a.m.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

In 2004 Ed Hansen and Duane Francis founded the Herman Hansen Memorial Golf Tournament in memory of Ed’s father Herman Hansen, who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2001 and then sadly passed away in August 2003.  It is our goal to raise money and awareness in support of the ongoing work of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

The amount raised to date has been just under $80,000 and our goal is to raise even more this year with a vision to raise $100,000 to help find a cure for cancer.

This year's tournament is brought to you by Hansen Lawn and Gardens Inc., Duane Francis - Manulife Securities Inc., Pro Printers and Lacroix Heavy Equipment Rentals.

The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation is dedicated to increasing cancer survivorship in Eastern Ontario by working to fill the gaps in services for cancer patients and their families. The Cancer Foundation partners with local organizations and hospitals to ensure residents have the best care close to home, shorter wait times for diagnosis and treatment, access to research and the latest new therapies and overall improved quality of life.

Last year the day was enjoyed by all; the golfers, dinners guests and volunteers who made the incredible day possible.  As well, we were supported by our loyal and community minded sponsors, without whom, the day would not be complete.

Therefore, we have enclosed your 2010 golf tournament registration form. Kindly take the time to read through it carefully as this year’s package includes important information about sponsorship opportunities.  You can enhance your business’ community profile by committing a financial contribution to this very popular fundraising event.  Several levels of sponsorship are available and appropriate recognition will be given to each of our patrons.

NOT A GOLFER, BUT SILL WANT TO PARTICIPATE?

If you are not a golfer, but would still like to participate, there are many ways that you can be involved!

1) Make a donation or collect pledges - you can make a donation in the name of the tournament by going to our donate page.

3) Join us for dinner - you can join us for dinner after the tournament. Tickets will be sold individually for $50.
